Products & Stock FAQs
What fencing products do you stock?
We supply a wide range of products, including wooden fence posts and rails, concrete posts and gravel boards, fence panels and trellis, stock fencing, wire netting, barbed wire, agricultural fencing, garden and field gates, electric fencing, postmix, cement and fencing accessories. Our range can vary, so contact us about specific products.
Do you stock well-known fencing and tool brands?
Yes. We stock products from recognised brands including Birkdale and its DuraPost, FenceMate, SiteMate and GateMate ranges, as well as Jacksons Fencing, Samac, Roughneck, IRWIN and other suppliers. Availability varies by product.
Do you sell treated timber?
Yes. We stock treated timber, including Tanalised and Tanatone products, as well as UC4 and C24 timber options. Most of our timber is treated unless the product description says otherwise. If you need timber for a particular application, please speak to our team so we can help you choose a suitable product.
Are your timber sizes exact, and do you offer a cutting service?
Timber dimensions can vary depending on whether the product is sawn or planed, so check the product specifications before ordering. We don’t offer a timber cutting service, but you’re welcome to use a saw and tape measure at our premises to cut your timber to size yourself.
What is the difference between wooden, concrete and DuraPost fence posts?
Wooden posts are a traditional, versatile choice for garden and agricultural fencing. Concrete posts are durable and resistant to rot, making them popular for many garden fencing installations. Birkdale DuraPost steel posts offer a modern alternative and are designed to be lightweight and durable. DuraPost benefits include being up to 80% lighter than concrete posts, quick to install, wind-tested to 110 mph, available in a choice of colours and 100% recyclable. The stated guarantee is 15 years for galvanised products and 25 years for powder-coated products, subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions. The best option depends on your fence type, budget, ground conditions and preferences.
How do I choose the right size fence post?
The right post size depends on your fence height, ground conditions, fencing style and the weight or pressure the fence needs to withstand. Contact us with details of your project and we’ll help you identify a suitable option.
Do you stock gates and gate fittings?
Yes. We stock a selection of wooden field and agricultural gates, metal gates and garden gates, along with hinges, catches, latches, hanging sets and other gate fittings. We also offer adjustable gate frame kits, subject to availability.
Do you stock electric fencing products?
Yes, we stock electric fencing products for suitable agricultural and fencing applications. Please contact us if you’re looking for a particular item or need to check availability.
Do you sell tools and accessories for installing fencing?
Yes. We stock a range of fencing tools, general tools, fixings and accessories to help with fencing installation and maintenance. Product availability may vary, so get in touch if you need something specific.
Can I check whether a product is in stock before visiting?
Of course. Contact us by telephone or email and we’ll do our best to check current stock and availability before you make the journey.
Can I order products that aren’t currently in stock?
In many cases, yes. We can often order products from our suppliers if they’re not currently in stock. Lead times vary by product and supplier, ranging from around one day to four weeks. We’ll confirm the expected lead time where possible.
Can you source products that aren’t listed on your website?
We’ll do our best. If you’re looking for a specific product, size or specification that you can’t find on our website, contact us with the details and we’ll see whether we can source it.
Can you help with special orders or unusual requirements?
Yes. If you have a specific requirement or a project that needs something out of the ordinary, get in touch. We’ll look into the available options and let you know what we can offer.
Can I buy products individually, or are some sold in packs?
Many products can be purchased individually, while others, such as certain fixings, are sold in packs or set quantities. Please check the product details or contact us if you’re unsure how an item is sold.
